So, what does this mean for you, well if you own an HD DVD player then you can either sell it now and make a loss or use it as a DVD upscaler. HD DVD had suffered a string of defections, with Warner, Netflix, Best Buy, and Wal-Mart all recently pledging their alliance to Blu-ray. They claim that the DVDs will remain on the market for a while, but Toshiba won't be putting out anymore.
